Taking the second spot on my list is the KAC Overdrive Sport Bike Rack. The KAC Overdrive Sport is on par with the first rack, with a few differences.

While this bike rack also has the ability to carry two bikes at once, the difference comes in the carrying capacity.

You should put more than 120 pounds but…

…it will still get the job done for most electric bikes!

The patented anti-wobble system is just what you would expect from a top quality bike rack.

Its convenience is matched with the tilting feature that allows for easy access to the back of the vehicle.

One thing I really like about this model is its ease of installation. You won’t find yourself struggling to install or even adjust this bike rack like you may have experienced with others.

Last, but certainly not least, is the limited time lifetime warranty!

The warranty has you covered in a wide range of accident scenarios, making it a truly comforting purchase.

      2. BUZZRACK E-Hornet H3 3-Bike Platform Hitch Rack

The E-Hornet bike rack is another exciting prospect, especially if you need the extra carrying ability of up to three bikes.

While you can carry up to three bikes, the carrying capacity remains constant and has a maximum carrying capacity of 132 pounds.

The E-Hornet gives you all of the standard features you would expect from a top of the line bike rack.

Tilting capabilities make it easy to navigate a long road trip without the hassle of removing or adjusting the rack.

The lockable clamps hold the tire tubes securely, so no worries if you’re driving down dangerous roads to your favorite biking trails.

The one thing that stands out to me is its construction quality.

The E-Hornet is constructed with steel.

While the steel construction makes it a heavy bike rack. The quality and durability of the bike rack is second to none because of it.

      3. Hyperax 2-Bike Hitch Mount Bike Rack

The Hyperax Bike Rack shows excellent performance and value for its cost. This bike rack can carry two bikes, with a total carrying capacity of 140 pounds.

Soft rubber hooks hold your bike in place without scratching or causing blemishes on the frame.

Couple that with the adjustable wheel holders and you have no room for worry about any damage while on the road.

I really like its ability to be conveniently and easily stored when not in use. With the rack folded into the storage position, there are wall hooks and a carrying handle.

This may be the most effortless bike rack on our list in terms of storage and portability.

As with the rest of our bike racks on this list, the Hyperax is compatible with a two inch ball hitch.

      4. RockyMounts MonoRail Solo Bike Rack

If you are a solo e-biker then the RockyMounts MonoRail is the perfect bike rack for you!

Carrying up to 45 pounds, this will meet all the needs of any solo adventurer.

The design of the MonoRail makes it so that there is no contact between the bike and the bike rack.

The front wheel is secured with a tube holder, making it impossible for the bike’s tire to swing into the rack.

Nearly any type of bike and bike tire can be fit.

From the “fat” bike tires to the wide diameter wheels, the MonoRail should satisfy your needs.

When your rack isn’t in use, it folds flat against the car and tilts to an angle that makes the trunk area of your vehicle more than accessible.

This bike rack is compatible with a 1 and ¼, or 2 inch ball hitch, making the compatibility issue a nonfactor for almost all of us.

This bike rack is super lightweight!

Coming in at right around 25 pounds, there is little competition in its class.

Lastly, the ease of installation has to be mentioned.

Straight out of the box, this unit is extremely user friendly and will require little to no thought to put together. Just always make sure that you’re reading the basics of the directions.

      Electric Bike Rack Buyers Guide

Choosing The Best E-Bike Rack To Fit Your Needs

Before we head out to buy a bike rack for our e-bikes, we have to consider a lot of different things.

Below, I will outline some of the most important things to think about before making a purchase.

How many bikes do I need to carry?

For those of us with families who enjoy outdoor recreation together, our needs will be different than those solo cyclists.

Of course, there may be times when you need to carry more bikes than others…

…but we suggest making a purchase based on “normal” situations.

By doing this, you do several things:

      1. Save Money
      2. Minimize Installation Hassle
      3. Make It Easier To Use
      4. Add Cool Features That May Not Be Included In The Larger Racks

What type of bike rack fits my E-Bike?

This is a big question that cannot be overlooked. Certain bike racks are only compatible with certain tire sizes and diameters.

I can’t imagine anything worse than making a purchase before a vacation, only to find out right before the trip that it’s not going to work.

Save yourself the hassle by reviewing a compatibility chart for the bike rack and comparing it with the specs of your bike.

Is it easy to transport and store?

For some of us, we have the ability to use our bike racks year round and don’t need to remove the bike rack when it’s not in use.

For a lot of us, we will need to remove and re-install our bike racks every once in a while.

Whether its weather related, whether you need to space near the trunk, or whether you just don’t like the look of a bike rack sitting idle, the ease of transporting and storing our bike rack is important.

Look for a bike rack that is lightweight, foldable, and inclusive of wall hooks for the most convenient user experience you could ask for.

What features are important to me?

This is a matter of personal preference, but it is important all the same. What matters to you in your bike rack?

Is it the patented technology that holds your bike down securely?

Is it the folding and tilting capabilities that excite you, knowing you won’t have to remove the rack when it’s not in use anymore?

Is it the compatibility with more than one size of ball hitch?

One of my favorite features that I always make sure my bike racks have is rolling capabilities.

When you can just fold up your bike rack, and wheel it into your garage or storage space, life is easy.

My lousy back used to scream at me every time I picked up my gigantic steel bike rack. I have not made the same mistake since that purchase.

      My Top Choice

While every person will need different features and capabilities in their bike racks, my personal choice is the KAC Overdrive sport.
